Our Rapid City clinic provides:

  • Upper limb prosthetics

  • Lower limb prosthetics

  • Custom foot orthotics

Our Rapid City clinic provides prosthetic care for individuals throughout western South Dakota, the Black Hills, and the surrounding region.

Our Rapid City clinic was created to bring personalized, specialized prosthetic care to patients throughout the Black Hills and surrounding communities. We’re especially passionate about taking on complex cases and providing experienced upper and lower limb prosthetic care closer to home.

Here, you'll find a small team, individualized appointments, advanced technology, and clinicians who have the time to really get to know you.

Upper Limb Prosthetic Specialists

We work with partial hand, below-elbow, above-elbow, and higher-level amputations using myoelectric, body-powered, passive, silicone, and activity-specific prosthetic solutions.

Upper limb prosthetics can be complex, and experience matters. We take the time to evaluate your goals and help you understand the different technologies available before deciding what makes the most sense for you.

Lower Limb Prosthetics

We also provide comprehensive lower limb prosthetic care, including below-knee and above-knee prostheses, advanced socket designs, multiple suspension options, high-activity components, and microprocessor technology.

Whether this is your first prosthesis or you've worn one for decades, we're happy to sit down and talk about what is—and isn't—working.

There is also a menu or informational display on the counter.

🐾 Meet Gomer — our clinic dog at Pivot.

Gomer has quickly become a pretty special part of what we do at Pivot.

Gomer seems to understand that his job starts with simply meeting people where they are. If invited in, he’ll calmly walk into the room, greet the patient, and settle in beside them.

Prosthetic appointments can sometimes be long. There can be a lot of measuring, fitting, adjusting, standing, walking, and waiting. Gomer brings a calm presence into the room through all of it. He’s perfectly happy to sit next to a patient and be petted—or, when an appointment gets particularly long, demonstrate his expertise in relaxation by taking a nap. 😂

There’s actually some science behind what our patients seem to experience with him. Research on animal-assisted interventions has found that interacting with dogs can reduce anxiety and perceived stress, and some studies have measured decreases in heart rate and respiratory rate along with improvements in comfort and well-being. In other words, a calm dog can help create an environment where people simply feel a little more at ease.

And that matters to us.
